Salem Witches (Salem, MA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Winthrop Vikings (Winthrop, MA), 70-38 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Salem upgrades its record to 3-0 on the season. The Witches host Masconomet Regional (Boxford, MA) to clash with the Chieftains in a Northeastern - Large bout on Monday, January 8. The Chieftains go into the bout with a record of 2-4. Masconomet Regional lost 70-59 in their recent league bout against Beverly (Beverly, MA)

Next up, the Vikings clash with the Gloucester Fishermen (Gloucester, MA) in a Northeastern - Small bout, on Friday, January 5. Winthrop will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record. The Fishermen go into the bout with a 1-4 record after their 69-46 league loss to Masconomet Regional (Boxford, MA).
