In Thursday's non-league contest, the host Gulfport Admirals basketball team scored a close 60-54 win over the Hancock Hawks.
The Admirals (14-1) will now prepare for their contest against Picayune (Picayune, MS). The Maroon Tide come into the non-league contest with a 4-8 record. In their last contest, Picayune was tipped by Petal (Petal, MS), 58-56, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Hawks battle the Greene County Wildcats (Leakesville, MS) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, January 4. Hancock will attempt to better on its 7-11 season record. The Wildcats come into the contest with a 8-8 record after their 61-58 non-league win over Presbyterian Christian (Hattiesburg, MS).
