The crowd at Thursday's league challenge between the Letcher County Central Cougars / Lady Cougars (Whitesburg, KY) and the visiting June Buchanan Crusaders (Pippa Passes, KY), observed Letcher County Central's basketball team overwhelm June Buchanan by a score of 68-21.

The Cougars / Lady Cougars (5-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Breathitt County (Jackson, KY). The Bobcats come into the non-league challenge with a 7-3 record. In their last challenge, Breathitt County trounced Good Hope (Cullman, AL), 75-73, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Crusaders battle the Model Patriots (Richmond, KY) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 4. June Buchanan will attempt to improve on its 0-7 season record. The Patriots come into the challenge with a 5-7 record after their 64-15 non-league win over Menifee County (Frenchburg, KY).
