North Carolina High School Basketball - Anson overwhelmed by Cheraw

January 2, 2025: Wadesboro, NC 28170

In Thursday's non-league test, the Cheraw Braves (Cheraw, SC) basketball squad trounced the host Anson Bearcats (Wadesboro, NC), by a score of 53-29.

Next, the Braves encounter the Scotland Fighting Scots (Laurinburg, NC) in a non-league test, on Saturday, January 4. Cheraw will attempt to improve on its 9-4 season record. The Fighting Scots come into the test with a 4-3 record after their 60-49 non-league win over Marlboro County (Bennettsville, SC).

The Bearcats (5-6) will now prepare for their test against Central Academy (Monroe, NC). The Cougars come into the 2A/3A Rocky River test with a 0-11 record. In their last test, Central Academy was routed by West Stanly (Oakboro, NC), 71-22, in a league test.
