In Thursday's non-league contest, the host Mt. Mansfield Cougars basketball team scored a good 43-31 win over the Rutland Raiders.
The Cougars (4-0) will now prepare for their contest against Rice Memorial (South Burlington, VT). The Green Knights come into the non-league contest with a 0-4 record. In their last contest, Rice Memorial was topped by Essex (Essex Junction, VT), 66-32, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Raiders battle the St. Johnsbury Academy Hilltoppers (St. Johnsbury, VT) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, January 4. Rutland will attempt to better on its 1-5 season record. The Hilltoppers come into the contest with a 4-0 record after their 48-20 non-league win over Brattleboro (Brattleboro, VT).
