The Pierz Pioneers (Pierz, MN) basketball crushed the visiting Staples-Motley Cardinals (Staples, MN), 58-31 in Thursday's league bout.
The Pioneers now possess a 5-9 record. They play next when they travel to Pequot Lakes for a AA Section 7 bout on Tuesday, January 7. Pierz will play a Patriots team coming off a 75-38 non-league win over Cloquet (Cloquet, MN). The Patriots record now stands at 8-2.
