The Mabel-Canton Cougars (Mabel, MN) basketball felled the visiting Alden-Conger Knights (Alden, MN), 78-65 in Friday's non-league test.

The Cougars (8-5) will now prepare for their test against Lyle/Pacelli (Lyle, MN). The Athletics go into the A Section 1 test with a 12-2 record. In their last test, Lyle/Pacelli thwarted Regis (Eau Claire, WI), 55-50, in a non-league test.

The Knights now own a 6-7 record. They play next when they travel to Loyola for a A Section 2 test on Tuesday, January 24. Alden-Conger will encounter a Crusaders squad coming off a 70-34 league win over Madelia (Madelia, MN). The Crusaders record now stands at 11-5.
