North Carolina High School Basketball - Ashley tipped by Laney

January 20, 2023: Wilmington, NC 28412

The Laney Buccaneers basketball team scored 49 points and held the host Ashley Screaming Eagle to 44 in the Buccaneers league triumph on Friday.

The Buccaneers now sport a 16-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to West Brunswick for a 3A/4A Conference 20 contest on Tuesday, January 24. Laney will meet a Trojans team coming off a 64-44 league loss to Hoggard (Wilmington, NC). The Trojans record now stands at 7-9.

The Screaming Eagle (6-9) will now prepare for their contest against New Hanover (Wilmington, NC). The Wildcats enter the 3A/4A Conference 20 contest with a 13-2 record. In their last contest, New Hanover was nudged by Northwood (Pittsboro, NC), 58-45, in a non-league contest.
