South Rebels (Willoughby, OH) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Benedictine Bengals (Cleveland, OH), 50-44 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, South upgrades its record to 4-10 on the campaign. The Rebels travel to Solon (Solon, OH) to play the Comets in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Comets come into the bout with a record of 7-7. Solon lost 53-33 in their recent league bout against Medina (Medina, OH)

Next up, the Bengals play the St. Ignatius Wildcats (Cleveland, OH) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 21. Benedictine will attempt to upgrade on its 4-11 season record. The Wildcats come into the bout with a 9-6 record after their 66-64 league loss to Lutheran East (Cleveland Heights, OH).
