Spring Valley Timberwolves (Huntington, WV) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Capital Cougars (Charleston, WV), 72-66 in a league bout.

With the win, Spring Valley upgrades its record to 9-4 on the season. The Timberwolves host Riverside (Belle, WV) to clash with the Warriors in a Mountain State bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 1-13. Riverside lost 63-25 in their recent league bout against George Washington (Charleston, WV)

Next up, the Cougars clash with the Parkersburg Big Reds (Parkersburg, WV) in a Mountain State bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Capital will attempt to upgrade on its 2-8 season record. The Big Reds go into the bout with a 3-11 record after their 74-57 non-league loss to Linsly (Wheeling, WV).
