The Herrin Tigers basketball team (Herrin, IL), was nudged 42-37 in Friday's non-league battle with the visiting Centralia Orphans (Centralia, IL)
The Orphans now possess a 17-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Cahokia for a South Seven battle on Friday, January 27. Centralia will confront a Comanches team coming off a 59-52 non-league win over Granite City (Granite City, IL). The Comanches record now stands at 6-16.
The Tigers (19-2) will now prepare for their battle against Marion (Marion, IL). The Wildcats come into the non-league battle with a 10-10 record. In their last battle, Marion edged Brentwood (Brentwood, MO), 53-26, in a non-league battle.
