The Doyle Tigers (Livingston, LA) basketball nipped the host Pope John Paul II Jaguars (Slidell, LA), 50-47 in Friday's non-league test.

The Tigers (10-8) will now prepare for their test against Springfield (Springfield, LA). The Bulldogs go into the non-league outing with a 7-14 record. In their last outing, Springfield was tipped by St. Thomas Aquinas (Hammond, LA), 73-39, in a league outing.

The Jaguars now own a 9-8 record. They play next when they travel to Sumner for a non-league outing on Monday, January 23. Pope John Paul II will clash with a Cowboys squad coming off a 77-63 league win over Pine (Franklinton, LA). The Cowboys record now stands at 6-11.
