Meridian Bobcats (Mounds, IL) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Vandalia Vandals (Vandalia, IL), 63-59 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Meridian upgrades its record to 14-6 on the season. The Bobcats travel to Benton (Benton, IL) to play the Rangers in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 21. The Rangers go into the bout with a record of 16-5. Benton won 70-57 in their recent non-league bout against Hamilton County (McLeansboro, IL)

Next up, the Vandals play the Pinckneyville Panthers (Pinckneyville, IL) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 21. Vandalia will attempt to upgrade on its 10-10 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 18-3 record after their 75-29 non-league win over Sesser-Valier (Sesser, IL).
