Florida High School Basketball - River Ridge edges Tarpon Springs

January 20, 2023: Tarpon Springs, FL 34689

The River Ridge Royal Knights (New Port Richey, FL) basketball nipped the host Tarpon Springs Spongers (Tarpon Springs, FL), 76-73 in Friday's non-league test.

The Royal Knights (13-7) will now prepare for their test against Pasco (Dade City, FL). The Pirates go into the 5A District 6 test with a 4-12 record. In their last test, Pasco was tipped by Gulf (New Port Richey, FL), 55-47, in a league test.

The Spongers now own a 5-8 record. They play next when they host Clearwater for a non-league test on Monday, January 23. Tarpon Springs will encounter a Tornadoes squad coming off a 57-45 league loss to Seminole (Seminole, FL). The Tornadoes record now stands at 4-14.
