In Friday's non-league outing, the Mohawk Area Warriors (Bessemer, PA) basketball squad beat the host Aliquippa Quips (Aliquippa, PA), by a count of 68-53.
The Warriors (8-6) will now prepare for their outing against Laurel (New Castle, PA). The Spartan go into the WPIAL 3A 1 outing with a 13-0 record. In their last outing, Laurel defeated Greenville (Greenville, PA), 43-34, in a non-league outing.
The Quips now hold a 7-4 record. They play next when they travel to South Side for a WPIAL 2A 1 outing on Monday, January 23. Aliquippa will clash with a Rams squad coming off a 58-26 league loss to Freedom Area (Freedom, PA). The Rams record now stands at 4-7.
