Hardin County Cougars (Elizabethtown, IL) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Cobden Appleknockers (Cobden, IL), 23-18 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Hardin County upgrades its record to 2-14 on the season. The Cougars travel to Goreville (Goreville, IL) to play the Blackcats in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 21. The Blackcats go into the bout with a record of 18-6. Goreville won 58-52 in their recent non-league bout against Harrisburg (Harrisburg, IL)

Next up, the Appleknockers play the Shawnee Redskins (Wolf Lake, IL) in a South Egyptian bout, on Monday, January 23. Cobden will attempt to upgrade on its 6-13 season record. The Redskins go into the bout with a 2-8 record after their 63-27 non-league loss to Pope County (Golconda, IL).
