Louisiana High School Basketball - Ponchatoula crushes Covington

Ponchatoula Green Wave (Ponchatoula, LA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Covington Lions (Covington, LA), 66-18 in a league bout.

With the victory, Ponchatoula improves its record to 11-6 on the campaign. The Green Wave host Albany (Albany, LA) to play the Hornets in a non-league challenge on Thursday, January 26. The Hornets come into the challenge with a record of 23-1.

Next up, the Lions play the Fontainebleau Bulldogs (Mandeville, LA) in a 5A District 6 challenge, on Tuesday, January 24. Covington will attempt to improve on its 4-9 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 12-13 record after their 61-59 league loss to Hammond (Hammond, LA).
