Ellington Knights (Ellington, CT) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Stafford Bulldogs (Stafford Springs, CT), 46-30 in a league bout.

With the win, Ellington upgrades its record to 9-3 on the season. The Knights host Sports & Medical Sciences Academy (Hartford, CT) to play the Tigers in a North Central Connecticut bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 4-6. Sports & Medical Sciences Academy won 58-30 in their recent non-league bout against Prince RVT (Hartford, CT)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the East Granby Crusaders (East Granby, CT) in a North Central Connecticut bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Stafford will attempt to upgrade on its 5-5 season record. The Crusaders go into the bout with a 1-10 record after their 53-41 league loss to Windsor Locks (Windsor Locks, CT).
