Hayden Wildcats (Topeka, KS) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Shawnee Heights Thunderbirds (Tecumseh, KS), 35-31 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Hayden upgrades its record to 5-4 on the season. The Wildcats host Manhattan (Manhattan, KS) to clash with the Indians in a non-league bout on Friday, February 3. The Indians go into the bout with a record of 5-6.

Next up, the Thunderbirds clash with the Basehor-Linwood Bobcats (Basehor, KS) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Shawnee Heights will attempt to upgrade on its 7-3 season record. The Bobcats go into the bout with a 9-3 record after their 56-52 non-league win over De Soto (De Soto, KS).
