In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Mountainair Mustangs basketball team scored a tight 38-37 triumph over the Capitan Tigers.
In their next game, the Mustangs meet the Alamo Navajo Cougars (Magdalena, NM) in a non-league match, on Thursday, January 26. Mountainair will attempt to better on its 1-0 season record. The Cougars enter the match with a 0-2 record after their 53-47 non-league loss to Mescalero Apache (Mescalero, NM).
