The Bellevue Comets (Bellevue, IA) basketball nipped the visiting Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks (Wellman, IA), 89-83 in Saturday's league test.
The Comets (7-4) will now prepare for their test against Cascade (Cascade, IA). The Cougars go into the River Valley test with a 8-3 record. In their last test, Cascade got by Wilton (Wilton, IA), 94-75, in a league test.
The Golden Hawks now own a 6-6 record. They play next when they travel to Mt. Pleasant for a non-league test on Monday, January 22. Mid-Prairie will encounter a Panthers squad coming off a 53-52 league loss to Fort Madison (Fort Madison, IA). The Panthers record now stands at 8-4.
