The Combs Coyotes (San Tan Valley, AZ) basketball nipped the host Mountain Pointe Pride (Phoenix, AZ), 73-72 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Coyotes (16-8) will now prepare for their test against Eastmark (Mesa, AZ). The Firebirds go into the 4A East Sky test with a 14-7 record. In their last test, Eastmark was tipped by American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North (Gilbert, AZ), 72-52, in a league test.

The Pride now own a 2-14 record. They play next when they host Williams Field for a 5A San Tan test on Monday, January 22. Mountain Pointe will encounter a Black Hawks squad coming off a 68-49 league loss to Higley (Gilbert, AZ). The Black Hawks record now stands at 6-13.
