In Saturday's non-league outing, the Newton Local Indians (Pleasant Hill, OH) basketball squad beat the host Fairlawn Jets (Sidney, OH), by a count of 54-35.

The Indians (8-4) will now prepare for their outing against Tri-County North (Lewisburg, OH). The Panthers go into the Western Ohio outing with a 1-14 record. In their last outing, Tri-County North was topped by Miami Valley (Dayton, OH), 54-49, in a non-league outing.

The Jets now hold a 2-12 record. They play next when they travel to Anna for a Shelby County outing on Tuesday, January 23. Fairlawn will clash with a Rockets squad coming off a 42-40 league win over Jackson Center (Jackson Center, OH). The Rockets record now stands at 7-7.
