Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Orono Spartans (Long Lake, MN) and the visiting La Crosse Central Riverhawks (La Crosse, WI), saw Orono's basketball squad wallop La Crosse Central by a tally of 78-54.

With the victory, Orono improves its record to 9-4 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Waconia (Waconia, MN) to confront the Wildcats in a AAAA Section 2 challenge on Tuesday, January 23. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a record of 11-2. Waconia won 82-51 in their recent league challenge against Jefferson (Bloomington, MN)

Next up, the Riverhawks confront the Onalaska Hilltoppers (Onalaska, WI) in a Mississippi Valley challenge, on Tuesday, January 23. La Crosse Central will attempt to improve on its 6-7 season record. The Hilltoppers come into the challenge with a 10-5 record after their 98-66 non-league loss to Totino-Grace (Fridley, MN).
