Middletown North Lions (Middletown, NJ) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Toms River East Raiders (Toms River, NJ), 48-43 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Middletown North upgrades its record to 7-9 on the campaign. The Lions host Red Bank Regional (Little Silver, NJ) to play the Bucs in a non-league bout on Monday, January 22. The Bucs come into the bout with a record of 11-3. Red Bank Regional won 61-47 in their recent non-league bout against Point Pleasant Beach (Point Pleasant Beach, NJ)

Next up, the Raiders play the Jackson Memorial Jaguars (Jackson Township, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 23. Toms River East will attempt to upgrade on its 6-7 season record.
