Connecticut High School Basketball - Newington can't hold off Torrington

The Torrington Raiders basketball team scored 67 points and held the visiting Newington Nor'easters to 66 in the Raiders non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Raiders now sport a 7-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Wilby for a Naugatuck Valley contest on Wednesday, January 24. Torrington will battle a Wildcats team coming off a 68-65 league loss to Crosby (Waterbury, CT). The Wildcats record now stands at 7-2.

The Nor'easters (4-8) will now prepare for their contest against RHAM (Hebron, CT). The Raptors enter the non-league contest with a 7-4 record. In their last contest, RHAM was nudged by East Catholic (Manchester, CT), 74-40, in a non-league contest.
