The Providence-St. Mel Knights basketball squad (Chicago, IL), was trounced 68-39 in Saturday's league test with the host Providence Catholic Celtics (New Lenox, IL)

The Celtics (8-11) will now prepare for their test against Hinsdale South (Darien, IL). The Hornets go into the non-league test with a 10-13 record. In their last test, Hinsdale South walloped Berwyn/Cicero Morton (Cicero, IL), 68-44, in a league test.

The Knights now own a 4-12 record. They play next when they host Leo for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 23. Providence-St. Mel will encounter a Lions squad coming off a 44-29 league loss to Fenwick (Oak Park, IL). The Lions record now stands at 9-11.
