In Saturday's non-league outing, the Centennial Hawks (Las Cruces, NM) basketball squad edged the visiting Carlsbad Cavemen (Carlsbad, NM), by a count of 49-44.

The Hawks (6-1) will now prepare for their outing against Alamogordo (Alamogordo, NM). The Tigers go into the non-league outing with a 5-3 record. In their last outing, Alamogordo held off Eastwood (El Paso, TX), 43-39, in a non-league outing.

The Cavemen now hold a 3-6 record. They play next when they host Hobbs for a non-league outing on Monday, January 22.
