Taylorville Tornadoes (Taylorville, IL) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Springfield Southeast Spartans (Springfield, IL), 67-55 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Taylorville upgrades its record to 9-4 on the season. The Tornadoes travel to Effingham (Effingham, IL) to clash with the Flaming Hearts in a non-league bout on Monday, January 22. The Flaming Hearts go into the bout with a record of 1-0.

Next up, the Spartans clash with the Lanphier Lions (Springfield, IL) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 31. Springfield Southeast will attempt to upgrade on its 3-3 season record.
