Varnum Whippets (Seminole, OK) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Fairview Yellowjackets (Fairview, OK), 57-45 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Varnum upgrades its record to 17-3 on the campaign. The Whippets travel to Sasakwa (Sasakwa, OK) to play the Vikings in a Little River bout on Tuesday, January 23. The Vikings come into the bout with a record of 12-5. Sasakwa won 50-38 in their recent league bout against Paden (Paden, OK)

Next up, the Yellowjackets play the Thomas-Fay-Custer Terriers (Thomas, OK) in a Great Plains 7 bout, on Tuesday, January 23. Fairview will attempt to upgrade on its 7-7 season record. The Terriers come into the bout with a 9-7 record after their 53-18 non-league loss to Canute (Canute, OK).
