The Apache Junction Prospectors basketball team scored 38 points and limited the host Tonopah Valley Phoenix to 34 in the Prospectors non-league triumph on Monday.

The Prospectors now possess a 2-8 record. They play next when they travel to Gilbert Christian for a non-league game on Wednesday, January 22. Apache Junction will play a Knights team coming off a 45-32 league loss to Payson (Payson, AZ). The Knights record now stands at 13-6.

With the loss, Tonopah Valley falls to 0-11 on the campaign. The Phoenix host Chino Valley (Chino Valley, AZ) to play the Cougars in a 3A West game on Thursday, January 23. The Cougars go into the game with a record of 4-11. Chino Valley lost 43-38 in their recent non-league game against Wickenburg (Wickenburg, AZ)
