The Lawrence Free State Firebirds basketball team scored 62 points and held the host McPherson Bullpups to 56 in the Firebirds non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Firebirds now sport a 7-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Shawnee Mission North for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 24. Lawrence Free State will meet a Bison team coming off a 60-52 non-league win over Lansing (Lansing, KS). The Bison record now stands at 2-9.

The Bullpups (9-3) will now prepare for their contest against Andale (Andale, KS). The Indians enter the non-league contest with a 7-4 record. In their last contest, Andale was nudged by Haven (Haven, KS), 41-38, in a non-league contest.
