Connecticut High School Basketball - Northwestern Regional topples Pomperaug

In Saturday's non-league outing, the Northwestern Regional Highlanders (Winsted, CT) basketball squad beat the host Pomperaug Panthers (Southbury, CT), by a margin of 70-55.

The Highlanders (9-3) will now prepare for their outing against Canton (Canton, CT). The Warriors go into the non-league outing with a 6-5 record. In their last outing, Canton defeated Coventry (Coventry, CT), 43-41, in a league outing.

The Panthers now own a 3-8 record. They play next when they travel to Brookfield for a Southwest outing on Tuesday, January 24. Pomperaug will clash with a Bobcats squad coming off a 69-60 league win over Bunnell (Stratford, CT). The Bobcats record now stands at 10-2.
