Stillman Valley Cardinals (Stillman Valley, IL) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Mendota Trojans (Mendota, IL), 61-19 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Stillman Valley upgrades its record to 19-5 on the season. The Cardinals host North Boone (Poplar Grove, IL) to play the Vikings in a Big Northern bout on Wednesday, January 25. The Vikings go into the bout with a record of 4-13. North Boone lost 50-28 in their recent league bout against Genoa-Kingston (Genoa, IL)

Next up, the Trojans play the St. Bede Bruins (Peru, IL) in a Three Rivers - East bout, on Monday, January 23. Mendota will attempt to upgrade on its 4-18 season record. The Bruins go into the bout with a 6-15 record after their 46-33 league loss to Newman Central Catholic (Sterling, IL).
