New England Tigers (New England, ND) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting New Salem Holsteins (New Salem, ND), 46-34 in a non-league bout.

With the win, New England upgrades its record to 5-4 on the season. The Tigers travel to Heart River co-op [Belfield/South Heart] (Belfield, ND) to clash with the Cougars in a B Region 7 bout on Monday, January 23. The Cougars go into the bout with a record of 1-6. Heart River co-op [Belfield/South Heart] lost 51-35 in their recent non-league bout against Kidder County co-op [Steele/Tappen] (Steele, ND)

Next up, the Holsteins clash with the Garrison Troopers (Garrison, ND) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 7. New Salem will attempt to upgrade on its 2-11 season record.
