Harrison Raiders (West Lafayette, IN) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Merrillville Pirates (Merrillville, IN), 62-30 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Harrison upgrades its record to 1-0 on the campaign.

Next up, the Pirates play the Valparaiso Vikings (Valparaiso, IN) in a bout, on Friday, January 27. Merrillville will attempt to upgrade on its 4-5 season record. The Vikings come into the bout with a 1-1 record after their 41-23 non-league loss to Penn (Mishawaka, IN).
