The Hazelwood East Spartans basketball team scored 66 points and limited the visiting Alton Redbirds to 61 in the Spartans non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Spartans now possess a 12-5 record. They play next when they host Riverview Gardens for a Suburban - Green game on Friday, January 31.

With the loss, Alton falls to 15-5 on the campaign. The Redbirds host Lutheran (St. Peters, MO) to confront the Cougars in a non-league game on Friday, January 24. The Cougars go into the game with a record of 2-9. Lutheran won 66-54 in their recent non-league game against Capital City (Jefferson City, MO)
