New Mexico High School Basketball - Mountainair overwhelms Capitan

The Mountainair Mustangs basketball team scored 67 points and limited the host Capitan Tigers to 34 in the Mustangs non-league triumph on Tuesday.
The Mustangs now possess a 12-6 record. They play next when they travel to Alamo Navajo for a A District 3 game on Thursday, January 23. Mountainair will confront a Cougars team coming off a 55-41 non-league win over Mountainair (Mountainair, NM). The Cougars record now stands at 12-5.
With the loss, Capitan falls to 2-15 on the campaign. The Tigers host Lordsburg (Lordsburg, NM) to confront the Mavericks in a 2A District 3 game on Saturday, January 25. The Mavericks go into the game with a record of 6-11. Lordsburg lost 60-49 in their recent non-league game against Cobre (Bayard, NM)
