In Tuesday's league contest, the visiting Gwynedd Mercy Academy Monarchs basketball team scored a big 51-28 triumph over the Sacred Heart Academy Lions.

The Monarchs (12-1) will now prepare for their contest against Villa Joseph Marie (Holland, PA). The Jems go into the Catholic Academies contest with a 5-10 record. In their last contest, Villa Joseph Marie was trounced by Mt. St. Joseph Academy (Flourtown, PA), 53-44, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Lions battle the Penn Wood Patriots (Lansdowne, PA) in a non-league contest, on Friday, January 24. Sacred Heart Academy will attempt to better on its 9-3 season record. The Patriots go into the contest with a 7-9 record after their 58-39 league win over Interboro (Prospect Park, PA).
