In Tuesday's league outing, the host Hidalgo Pirates soccer squad scored a nice 8-0 victory over the Santa Maria Cougars.

The Pirates (4-0) will now prepare for their outing against Valley View (Pharr, TX). The Tigers go into the 4A Region 4 District 30 outing with a 1-2 record. In their last outing, Valley View prevailed over Vanguard Academy Beethoven (Edinburg, TX), 8-0, in a league outing.

Next up, the Cougars play the Mission Eagles (Mission, TX) in a non-league outing, on Friday, January 24. Santa Maria will attempt to improve on its 2-2 season record. The Eagles go into the outing with a 1-4 record after their 1-1 league Martin (Laredo, TX).
