Prestonsburg Blackcats (Prestonsburg, KY) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Elliott County Lions (Sandy Hook, KY), 78-45 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Prestonsburg upgrades its record to 13-6 on the season. The Blackcats travel to Lawrence County (Louisa, KY) to clash with the Bulldogs in a District 58 bout on Friday, January 26. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 14-3.

Next up, the Lions clash with the West Carter Comets (Olive Hill, KY) in a District 62 bout, on Tuesday, January 23. Elliott County will attempt to upgrade on its 2-15 season record. The Comets go into the bout with a 6-9 record after their 60-55 league win over Elliott County (Sandy Hook, KY).
