The Zuni Thunderbirds (Zuni, NM) basketball nipped the host Rehoboth Christian Lynx (Rehoboth, NM), 42-39 in Monday's non-league test.
The Thunderbirds (9-7) will now prepare for their test against Crownpoint (Crownpoint, NM). The Eagles go into the 3A District 1 test with a 5-7 record. In their last test, Crownpoint was tipped by Tohatchi (Tohatchi, NM), 49-36, in a league test.
The Lynx now own a 7-6 record. They play next when they host Hot Springs for a non-league test on Thursday, January 25. Rehoboth Christian will encounter a Tigers squad coming off a 60-41 non-league loss to Chaparral (Chaparral, NM). The Tigers record now stands at 2-12.
