In Monday's non-league outing, the Union Area Scotties (New Castle, PA) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Riverside Panthers (Ellwood City, PA), by a count of 57-17.
The Scotties (12-5) will now prepare for their outing against Aquinas Academy (Gibsonia, PA). The Crusaders go into the WPIAL 1A 1 outing with a 14-2 record. In their last outing, Aquinas Academy smashed Apollo Ridge (Spring Church, PA), 64-35, in a non-league outing.
The Panthers now hold a 3-10 record. They play next when they host Shenango for a non-league outing on Wednesday, January 24. Riverside will clash with a Wildcats squad coming off a 81-22 league loss to Freedom Area (Freedom, PA). The Wildcats record now stands at 1-11.
