New York High School Basketball - Catholic Central thwarts Watervliet

January 22, 2025: Troy, NY 12182

The crowd at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Catholic Central Crusaders (Troy, NY) and the visiting Watervliet Cannoneers (Watervliet, NY), observed Catholic Central's basketball team knock off Watervliet by a score of 60-44.

The Crusaders (6-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Cohoes (Cohoes, NY). The Tigers come into the Section 2 Colonial - Patriot challenge with a 3-10 record. In their last challenge, Cohoes prevailed over Waterford-Halfmoon (Waterford, NY), 78-48, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Cannoneers encounter the Taconic Hills Titans (Craryville, NY) in a Section 2 Patroon challenge, on Sunday, January 26. Watervliet will attempt to improve on its 9-4 season record. The Titans come into the challenge with a 5-6 record after their 43-41 non-league loss to Loudonville Christian (Loudonville, NY).
