In Wednesday's non-league contest, the host Fairfield Union Falcons basketball team scored a big 77-55 triumph over the Vinton County Vikings.

The Falcons (9-5) will now prepare for their contest against Bloom-Carroll (Carroll, OH). The Bulldogs go into the Mid-State - Buckeye contest with a 5-8 record. In their last contest, Bloom-Carroll was trounced by Circleville (Circleville, OH), 53-46, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Vikings battle the River Valley Raiders (Bidwell, OH) in a Tri-Valley I contest, on Friday, January 24. Vinton County will attempt to better on its 5-7 season record. The Raiders go into the contest with a 1-14 record after their 59-54 non-league loss to Federal Hocking (Stewart, OH).
