In Wednesday's non-league contest, the visiting Reed City Coyotes basketball team scored a close 54-52 win over the Kent City Eagles.

The Coyotes (3-12) will now prepare for their contest against Newaygo (Newaygo, MI). The Lions come into the Central State - Gold contest with a 5-6 record. In their last contest, Newaygo edged Chippewa Hills (Remus, MI), 61-55, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Eagles battle the Lakeview Wildcats (Lakeview, MI) in a Central State - Silver contest, on Friday, January 24. Kent City will attempt to better on its 7-7 season record. The Wildcats come into the contest with a 4-10 record after their 42-41 non-league win over Merrill (Merrill, MI).
