Lakewood Cougars (Arlington, WA) supporters left the game satisfied Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the host Lummi Blackhawks (Bellingham, WA), 75-64 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Lakewood advances its record to 11-5 on the year. The Cougars travel to Meridian (Bellingham, WA) to face the Trojans in a 1A/2A/3A Northwest match on Saturday, January 25. The Trojans enter the match with a record of 10-5. Meridian lost 62-56 in their recent league match against Lynden (Lynden, WA)
The Blackhawks now own a 14-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Grace Academy for a 1B Northwest match on Friday, January 24. Lummi will face a Eagles squad coming off a 74-33 league loss to Tulalip Heritage (Marysville, WA). The Eagles record now stands at 2-7.
