Fans at Wednesday's non-league battle between the Valley Vista Monsoon (Surprise, AZ) and the visiting Apollo Hawks (Glendale, AZ), saw Valley Vista's soccer squad hold off Apollo by a count of 1-0.

The Monsoon (4-8) will now prepare for their battle against Cibola (Yuma, AZ). The Raiders enter the non-league battle with a 10-5 record. In their last battle, Cibola tipped San Luis (San Luis, AZ), 5-0, in a league battle.

Next up, the Hawks confront the Sunnyslope Vikings (Phoenix, AZ) in a non-league battle, on Tuesday, January 28. Apollo will attempt to upgrade on its 1-9 season record.
