Clay County Tigers (Manchester, KY) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Middlesboro Yellowjackets (Middlesboro, KY), 71-53 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Clay County upgrades its record to 8-8 on the season. The Tigers host Jackson County (McKee, KY) to play the Generals in a District 49 bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Generals go into the bout with a record of 10-4. Jackson County won 69-60 in their recent non-league bout against Model (Richmond, KY)

Next up, the Yellowjackets play the Leslie County Eagles (Hyden, KY) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Middlesboro will attempt to upgrade on its 5-8 season record.
