The Cottonwood Bears basketball team scored 51 points and held the visiting Northside Methodist Academy Knights to 48 in the Bears non-league triumph on Monday.

The Bears now sport a 6-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Geneva County for a 2A Area 2 contest on Tuesday, January 24. Cottonwood will meet a Bulldogs team coming off a 68-39 league win over Wicksburg (Newton, AL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 14-9.

The Knights (6-13) will now prepare for their contest against Houston Academy (Dothan, AL). The Raiders enter the 3A Area 3 contest with a 23-2 record. In their last contest, Houston Academy nudged Deerfield-Windsor (Albany, GA), 37-29, in a non-league contest.
